20th-Sep-2008 08:31 pm - trip to JB on 19/9-20/9/08
the title says it all! =)

We met yesterday at 7plus at woodlands mrt station
before we headed down to the annoying checkpoint.
It was so crowded and the queues were snaking its
way. =( moreover, the bus lane had a terrible traffic
jam that caused us to walk along the treacherous
path on the causeway. can u imagine that?

anyway, we reached our dear J.A. residence hotel
at about 9pm! We chose that place cos of its
geographical distance and the price of cos. We
are not rich people u know. =) here are some pics
of us in our room.

our nice bedroom. but not that nice after you see this.

the flooring was quite bad. as you can see. but its ok.

our stuff!! as you can see we are quite messy people. ok i'm
the more messy one. hee~

we ate our dinner there! we were too hungry to take any
pictures so i took a picture of this. hammie bums signed up
for the Sushi King membership card and got this! hahaha.
It shall be my lunch partner during lunch time. =)

this thing came along with the lunch box set. =) so cute right?

the membership card! i dunno what is SKX though.

me taking pictures cos hammie was bathing. and so i was
bored. =( hammie takes a long while to bathe.

hammie after his shower! =)

us with the yakult that came along with our set dinner
at the Sushi King!

and so we fell asleep watching nike 10K run re-runs. it
was so boring! =(

the next day...

we woke up at about 8 plus and had our not very nice
breakfast. so no pictures. but i discovered this
structure just outside our hotel!

me with the structure! its pretty random!

us at the structure!

this is by far the cutest picture of hammie! =)

me and hammie boy. =)

at jusco!!! =)

our lunch!

Kurma drink.hahaha. reminded us of the sugarcane
drink sold at the primary school in Tapang. .=)

kueh pie tee! =) i like.

roasted chicken. but its BREAST meat. urggh. i DETEST breast
meat.

its soto ayam soup. =)

mango salad. that hammie didnt like.

just veg.

the special chicken with the heavy coconut milk taste.

our chicken rice. which was not too good. =(

hammie's unglam picture!! hahahhaha. but i love the way he
is. =)

we shopped alot at the supermarket. hammie bought 4
freaking bags of milk tea packets. he is so obssessed with
milk tea. teh. like what the ah peks like to drink at the
kopitiam. hahahaha. while i only bought several boxes of
chicken soup. just in case i feel like drinking something
less sweet in the office. and he spent close to RM$100 at
the supermart. hahaha. =)

we managed to avoid the terrible jam by leaving early.. and
also cos hammie had to go home for tuition. he is the
sweetest bum in the world! at least to me. =)

thank you for spending time with me hammie! =)

16th-Sep-2008 07:22 pm - yay!!
everyday after 530 is like heaven as i
go home! =) and today is no different.
my supervisor is on leave today and i
finished all the stuff that i needed to
do today! so yays~ to the wonderful
freedom. hahaha.

anyway.. the rate for malaysia ringgit
is going up! so happy!! =) yesterday
was RM$2.41 to SGD$1 and today is
RM$2.415 to SGD$1. woo~ hammie
is also happy! he's so happy that the
rate is going up!

vern's only starting school next week.
that's amazing! =) i also want to
have a break too! hahaha. ya. i just
started work only 2 weeks ago! =)

oh. me and hammie went to a water
park last sunday! so funn~ cos we
rented a huge float and i just hugged
it all the time and just lazed at wave
pool and also in the lazy river.. =)
we also went to the jacuzzi and saw
this really cute little girl! awww~ i
wanna have a little girl just like her.
11th-Sep-2008 07:49 pm - TGIFed!!
thank goodness it is FRIDAY!!! =)

woo~

happiness is every friday after 530pm
cos it is the WUNDABAR weekend
with dearest hammie bums. =)

work has been okay. its just boring
at times cos i dont really know alot
of stuff and i need to learn more
stuff. its a corporate job and so i
am dressed like a typical office lady
everyday. its ok. just that my feet is
going to go on strike soon with me
trodding around in my heels. but
the prices of food during lunch hours
are seriously NUTS. its so
expensive and its twice the amount
that i pay in school. how the hell am i
going to survive with the the costly
food from mon-fri? then i think i
can just stay at home for the weekend
to relieve my expenses.

its vern's birthday today!! =) i hope that
my bestie can have the best birthday
in the world! and i miss her.
28th-Aug-2008 12:06 am - =(
not feeling too good today.

so just wanted to blog it out but i'm afraid that
what i say may have ripple effect. sometimes
i am just too afraid to say anything,  just keeping
at that into my stomach and now its kind of
exploding. should i or shouldn't i?

i'm so afraid that i'm expecting too much, too
much such that sometimes i think i should just
not expect it.
18th-Aug-2008 11:46 pm - hiatus
it has been a long time since i last blogged.
cos hammie asked me why didnt i update
my blog. haha.

anyway, i've been searching for jobs since
and before my graduation and that was one
month ago and alas i've found a job! yay!!~
i've learnt quite a bit during the tumultous
job-searching journey of mine. one is to not
be so gan-chiong and 'hot water poured on
my feet' as directly translated from cantonese.
second is that learning how to strike a
balance between monetary benefits and
interest. probably the third would be being
unemployed is not that bad. hahaha. as in
you have alot of time in your hands and you
can do things that you yearned to do during
1) exam period 2) school time, like packing
my avalanche-like room and trashing out a
a quarter of my cupboard worth of rubbish.
okay... probably not what i yearned to do,
just that there is a pressing need to do so.

in retrospect, going back to school now feels
light and i dont have to worry about missing
out lectures and oh-shit-i-forgot-to-ballot-
for-tutorials kind of situation. hahaha.
somehow i am lost amidst the flurry of
discussion between undergrads with regards
to CAs, senior's lab reports , textbooks and
what-nots. when you are out of the system,
things are just different, cos your focus is
no longer there. in school, you are concerned
about grades, CCA, friends, tuition and the
stupid tuition loan. in the working world, its
about salary, office politics, friends?, where-
to-eat-for-lunch and not being a wall flower.
of cos i hope to get as little office politics as
i can cos i really dread it.

of cos, how can i miss out dear hammie? =)
by the way, this old man has a facebook
account! after months and years of me,
okay probably not me, telling him to get an
account soon enough so that he can view
pictures easily. i dont like the new facebook
interface. its abit unfriendly. anyway, hammie
is totally morphing into a lab mouse as he
literally scurries from lab to lecture theatres
to tutorial/seminar rooms to science club room
at times where we are all known as 'old birds'.
like what i always say, old birds no longer fly,
they only walk slowly and so we let the new
birds take lead. =) in the next year of so, my
'hay mee', or prawn noodle in hokkien, will be
a total mugger cos he needs the grades and
i believe that he can achieve what he wants
to achieve and i will be so damn proud of him
on the day that he receives his scroll such that
i will buy a big bouquet of flowers and teddy
bears for him and be his photographer and
nanny for that day. =) i will be looking forward
to that day.

in the meanwhile, i need to sleep cos its way
past midnight and i need to get my ass up and
off my bed by 730.
6th-Jul-2008 02:07 pm - ooohh.. part 1
i was thinking of starting a series of pictures that i took in cambodia.
this is the start of the pictures.

it was a candid shot taken in Tapang village, located approximately
an hour's drive from Siem Reap city. the 2 boys that you see in this
picture stay in the same village and often popped by to disturb us
when we're doing our stuff, be it lunch, facilitation or just us slacking
around. =) the kid in red is carrying the kid in blue and they are
really small and cute.

this is the 2nd picture that is like alot. this is actually at Phnom
Penh, at the intersection of 3 rivers. this picture showed the
fishing trade in this country. to alot of people, this may be
a mode of transport, but to the man on the boat, this is
everything to him. his home and his livelihood.
2nd-Jul-2008 10:30 am - post cambodia and kuala lumpur
......

cambodia is great.

fell in love with siem reap and the amazing people there.. they tried to make
our lives more easier knowing that we're darn spoilt asses who may not
adapt to the kampong lifestyles. let me briefly explain the schedule..

day 1: arrive at siem reap + salur market + bun kao's guesthouse + bun
kao's sister's house
day 2:  Angkor Wat's apparent sunrise + all the temples in Angkor Wat
day 3: pack up for Kampong Plok + long long river cruise along Tonle Sap
river + setting up of bath stations + setting up of sleeping areas + setting up
of log stuff
day 4: start of activities! =) education +construction
day 5: education day 2 +construction
day 6: homestay near my house + got to shower in a toilet! =)
day 7: education day 3 + construction
day 8: education day 4 + construction
day 9: education day 5 +construction + first time asking the whole school to
do friendship dance in the open area (chaotic but great feeling of
accomplishment)
day 10: cultural performance + back on the Tonle Sap river +bun kao's
guesthouse + hammie's in clinic being on drip and 2shots in the butt =(
day 11: pack up and head for Tapang + terrible motion sickness + cooking
+ feeling terrible
day 12: start of education + construction
day 13: homestay but ended up back in bun kao's guesthouse cos my
homestay partner had to go to the clinic for heat rash
day 14: salur market for more shopping of groceries + construction
day 15: construction
day 16:  last day of construction + 8 of us down with food poisoning including
me and hammie
day 17: cultural exchange + 8 of us down to the clinic for drip and shots +
swear i'll never ever going to be on drip cos the pain of drip is beyond terrible
day 18: landmine museum in siem reap + silkworm museum in siem reap +
shopping in siem reap + blue pumpkin =)
day 19: set off for phnom penh + bus broke down twice + ended up in a shitty
guesthouse + didnt sleep well
day 20: changed guesthouse immediately + genocide museum + killing fields
+ shopping in Sorya + being pickpocketed + longest ever facilitation
day 21: visited Tonle Sap river + phnom penh palace + bus broke down 2-3
times + reach Siem Reap at 6 + visited Tahun at the hospital + eating
Karmasutra (Indian food) + sleeping for 2 hours
day 22: check in at Siem Reap Airport at 5am and sat next to hammie + lunch
with mee hiong

looks like it is really packed... but i think its not long enough.. at least for me.
i wished i could stay longer in the individual villages and spent more time
taking more pictures and show how i felt when i'm at the village. interacting
with the kids made me feel how lucky i am to be born in singapore and to
not worry about clean water or toilets and definitely not about medical help..
which is so scarce in Siem reap.. entering their hospital makes me want to
cry.. the hospital is so desolete and dilapidated and patients basically just
lie on the floor due to the insufficient space and even those with drip!
doctors are only paid USD$25 a month and patients dont have the financial
capabilities to pay for their medical fees cos they dont have medisave there
in Cambodia...

............

Kuala Lumpur 08

It is great.. cos its with my dear hammie =) he just makes things so magical.
at least for me. =) going for this trip makes me understand more about others
and how helpless you can feel when they dont think the same way as you
do. which basically sucks. i'll not mention about who but they should know
that.... they are just sian about the trip to KL and how KL didnt meet their
expectations and how Sungei Wang do not meet their fashion needs and
how tightly strapped they are and how they are just interested in bowling
and arcade.

i mean, what's the point of going to a different country and have the same
expectations as you have in Singapore? its just plain stupid. i cannot imagine
if they go to Cambodia, i think they will just faint. KL is almost similar to
Singapore, in terms of shopping and weather and transportation. and i just
hate it when people just brush off my comments and treat what i have just
said as rubbish even though i've been to the place previously. It is freaking
annoying.

and one more thing. we gave them an option of OTOT(means you can do
watever u want today) but they chose to stick with us.. when i've planned to
go to titiwangsa gardens and had to cancel it and go to other shopping
malls and then they had that same sian look on their faces and they would
rather bowl or play arcade.. which you know, could have gone earlier and
not spoilt my day by sticking with us and showing me the stupid sian look
on your face? ANNOYING is an understatement.

and another thing. if the Sungei Wang does not suit your fashion needs,
then why are you there shopping on the last day and getting your last
minute shopping goods there????? it just makes u look stupid and totally
dont mean what you just said.

shit. i'm so angsty. anyway, i'm so NOT going to go with them again.
no matter what. i just hate it when people that i travel with are so nitpicky
over certain things. I know they dont like me, but just direct them to me and
not let it affect the trip thank you very much. grrrh. i'm so going to travel with
people that i can communicate with and people who have the same
frequency as me, like mr hammie.

.............
8th-May-2008 09:54 am - post exam!
post exam euphoria!! =)

okay.. it wasnt as great as i thought. hahaha.
i've tuitions later and things to do. like printing
of placards and mats for my YEP trip later this
month. it feels quite surreal that i'm going for
my YEP soon! and KL trip with hammie!

probably the most looked forward thing for me.
hahahahhaha. he's the sweetest thing ever! =)

anyway.... more tuitions to come along and
hopefully i can get my shift slots in CR. cos
there are surplus of people but a lack of
shift slots. sigh.. just when i tot i could put in
more moolah in my bank.

and.... bee's coming home! yay..
28th-Apr-2008 10:47 pm - 陶喆...

had this sudden nostalgia... =)
陶喆's songs...

it has been a long time since i've last heard the songs
that he produced. i think he's really good. one of the
really original songwriters that have songs that really
sound good.

anyway, his songs kinda belonged to the AC era with
vern.. =) she was the one who loved his songs. then i
got addicted. and so i recall spending half the time
playing his songs and going crazy with bee and vern
over his songs.

i miss those days.

i miss vern and bee.

ok stupid ecology made me miss them cos i was reading
about Mediterrean woodland and shrubland and vern
and bee are living in the wonderful biome and here
i am stuck at tropical rainforest. and i wont want to
go into the details about the climates about the biomes.
its a darn open book exam! =)

i so wanna go to all the biomes and experience the
climates myself! tundra would be interesting! =)

anyway, i miss vern and bee. they're so far away.

how i wish i could spend time with vern and bee
TOGETHER! and we can be the crazy bunch of 18
year-olds. hahaha.

of cos things have changed since we're 18.

we've found our other halves. within the same year that
they flew away from singapore.

experiencing school without uniforms.

going crazy over bath and body works products.

sent like millions of emails.

but some things dont change.

like our obssession with neoprints. and gossiping.
and sharing common likes. =)

here's to my 2 best frens!! =) i'm the pillow btw.

26th-Apr-2008 08:37 pm - exams and bee's tagging.

today marks the first day of my exams.. and it was a great one. =)
i reached school super early.. like 9am! when my paper was at 1pm.
hahaha. but i was glad that i did that. i memorised the right facts
with the short forms. like SAME C! and PARPEGS. hahahaha.
Status discrepancy
Anxiety
Motivation
Extrinsic forms
Cooperation
and
Physical aspect
Age
Religion
Persnality
Ethnicity
Gender
Social status
and so i managed to use what i know and i hope i did do a great job
at the exam! i finished on time! yay.
............................................................................................................................

the past few months has been a flurry. time passes so fast. great
time passes even faster! and this month marks the end of my school
life.. and university life.. which i will miss it. hahaha.. and of cos
hammie made up the most of my university life.. he's a great person.
and life will never be the same again after i leave university. =(
